✦ About This Tool
A Muhurat (मुहूर्त) is a chosen moment — the best window you can find for a particular action. This tool searches every daytime window across your date range, splitting each day's sunrise-to-sunset into 8 equal segments, and evaluates the Panchang (Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga) at the midpoint of each. Rahu Kaal segments are excluded by default. Results are ranked from best to least auspicious.
How It's Calculated
Sunrise and sunset are computed for each day using the Astronomy Engine at your given latitude/longitude. The daytime is split into 8 equal segments. For every segment, the Panchang is evaluated at the midpoint: Tithi (lunar day), Nakshatra (lunar mansion), and Yoga (from Sun+Moon longitude). Your optional filters are applied — only segments matching your allowed Tithis, Nakshatras, and Yogas are returned.
Griha Pravesh: Moon in a fixed sign for stability. Uttara Phalguni, Uttarashada, Uttara Bhadrapada, Rohini, Mrigashira, Anuradha, Hasta preferred. Shukla Paksha strongly preferred. Saturday & Tuesday avoided.
Vyapar Arambha (Business): Pushya Nakshatra is the single most auspicious. Wednesday & Thursday favoured. Guru-Pushya Yoga (Pushya on Thursday) is exceptionally powerful.
Yatra (Travel): Avoid travel during Gandanta zones (Ashlesha-Magha, Jyeshtha-Moola, Revati-Ashwini junctions). Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday are generally favourable for travel.
Namakaran: Avoid Ashtami, Navami, Chaturdashi, and Amavasya. Benefic Nakshatras preferred. Morning hours are ideal.
Vidyarambha (Education): Hasta, Ashwini, Pushya, Punarvasu, Mrigashira, Uttara Phalguni are best. Wednesday is most favourable. Mercury should be direct.
⚠ Limitations — Read Before Acting
A Muhurat computed without reference to the native's personal birth chart is incomplete. This tool provides strong general Muhurat windows — it does not substitute for a personalised reading. The following are not computed by this tool: Durmuhurta, Gulika Kaal, Yamagandam, Abhijit Muhurta, Choghadiya, Tara Bala, Graha Yuddha, combustion checks, or personal chart factors. Use results as a shortlist, then verify against your personal chart or consult a trained Jyotishi.
